Feather Tether - Stupid Pet IdeaAs if birds didn’t have it rough enough, now bird owners can keep them captive in both cages, and in public. The Feather Tether is designed to allow pet owners to take their feathered friends for strolls in the park. But, it turns out the device is better at providing feline ‘hors d’oeuvres’ on a string. “No kitty! Bad Kitty! No Kitty, no!”

Movies - popcorn and tickets
By Clifford T. Hofferd

Hey it’s the New Year! A time when people are looking forward to what 2013 has to offer. Others (like me) are looking forward to the summer movie season and what Hollywood has to offer moviegoers. With that in mind I have decided to compile a list of movies by movie studio which are going to be released in the summer 2013 movie season ( you know, that window of the year that exists from the first weekend in May to the last weekend of July/mid-August). The movies on this list will come from one of the major movie studios. These include Warner Brothers, Walt Disney, Universal, 20th Century Fox, Paramount, and Columbia Pictures. These decisions are based off of Star Power, content, and how they fit in that specified window I described. Let’s start with Continue reading »

Woman finds her son aliveWhen Cathrine Walton woke up at 7:30 am on January 24th, 2013, in Telkwa, British Columbia, she found herself facing a parent’s worst nightmare, her son was missing. “Oh my God! No!” she gasped as she surveyed the disaster before her. Never in her forty years of life had she seen anything like it. How anyone could have survived this devastating catastrophe, she just did not know.

She could only hope that somewhere amid the overwhelming destruction before her, she would find her 16-year-old son, Matthew. In fact, it was only the slim hope of finding her son that kept her from screaming, turning and fleeing the scene. Continue reading »

Zoey - Hero DogZoey is a five pound long haired Chihuahua, which might seem tiny by dog standards, but Zoey is a true giant among canines. This story begins one beautiful, sunny July afternoon in Masonville, Colorado. Booker West, a heart stealing one year old boy, was over visiting his grandparents, who took advantage of the good weather to make sure that Booker got some fresh air and exercise. Booker loved water, and soon had crawled over to the backyard’s bird bath, and began happily splashing and giggling. Also outside, was Zoey.

Booker’s grandparents, Monty and Denise Long, had always had animals in their lives, so when their little Chihuahua passed away, their son gave them Continue reading »

Aerofex

Imagine personal flight being as intuitive as riding a bike. Or, transporting a small fleet of first-responder craft in the belly of a passenger transport craft. Think of the advantages of being able to patrol borders without even constructing roads. Well, the Aerofex Corporation in Manhattan Beach, California, has exactly what you’ll need.

Aerofex is an active participant in cutting edge experimental aircraft, and spacecraft programs, that push the Continue reading »

Duck holding an umbrella in the rainA kindergarten teacher handed out a coloring page to her class. On it was a picture of a duck holding an umbrella. The teacher told her class to color the duck in yellow and the umbrella green, however, Little Timmy, the class rebel, colored the duck in orange and the umbrella in shades of red. After seeing it, the teacher asked him, “Timmy, how many times have you ever see a orange duck?” Little Timmy replied, “The same number of times I’ve seen a duck holding an umbrella.”

elephantApparently, humans are not the only mammal that like alcohol, and drink way too much of it. In fact, if given a choice between alcohol, or any other beverage, the pachyderms will prefer the fermented and distilled.

An event in India’s Dumurkota village, spawned newspaper headlines such as, “Trunk and Disorderly!”, and “Herd of Elephants Goes on Drunken Rampage After Mammoth Booze Up”. The Times of India tells the latest tale this way: “… a herd of 50-odd inebriated jumbos ransacked three houses and damaged paddy crops. The strong smell of mahua drink drew the elephants out of the forest, and they raided the shop selling the drink. The herd wasn’t happy, even after they guzzled down 18 containers of mahua, and ransacked the adjoining huts in search of Continue reading »

fall

Canadian taxpayers are wasting over three billion dollars each year, and virtually every dollar of it is preventable and unnecessary. That’s right, three billion dollars a year, a number that could be dramatically reduced by simply installing quality fall prevention kits and appliances in homes, apartment and condominiums. They are a very low tech, and an extremely affordable way to help prevent the huge number of injuries, and expenses, resulting from falls in Canada every year.

To illustrate the economic scope of the cost of falls to taxpayers just in one province, healthcare professionals and community groups met in Sudbury, Ontario, during November of 2012, to work on a billion dollar problem to the provincial health care system, the cost of treating only seniors in Ontario who fall and hurt themselves. Terry Tilleczek, the senior director for Continue reading »

etScientists and astronomers are busy searching out the wonders of the universe, but if they really want the skinny on how these anomalies function, they should spend a few days at our house.

Over the years, our innocent looking abode has been used as a “portal” by extraterrestrials, to observe our minds and study our tools. I know it because since Hubby and I have been climbing the maturity ladder, they (aliens) have been making regular visits here.  I’m prepared to back up my claim by giving you evidence of the existence of Continue reading »
