An old man, a little boy, and a donkey named Hiney were on their to town. The little boy rode on Hiney and the old man walked. As they went along, they passed some people, who remarked that it was a shame the old man was walking and the little boy was riding. The old man and the little boy thought that maybe the critics were right, so they changed places, and the old man rode Hiney.
It wasn’t long before they passed some more people who said, “What a shame that old man is Continue reading »

Air Canada claimed in a statement that it was “the most environmentally-friendly flight ever flown by Air Canada.” The specially modified commercial Airbus A319 also benefited from lightweight cabin equipment, lightweight carpets and pilots who used Continue reading »

It was late when we went to bed on Thursday, but I wasn’t tired, so I picked up my book and snuggled down for a read.
On this particular night all was nice and quiet in the neighborhood, and the soft breeze ruffled the curtains bringing with it the fragrance of lilacs. I could hear a soft humming in the distance, which seemed to increase in volume as it came closer to me. CLOSER TO ME!!!!! That was no soft humming! That was a loud buzzing! No it wasn’t a mosquito, it was much worse. I lay paralyzed as I watched it come closer to me, trying to attack like some crazed maniac, but it was as elusive and agile as that flying feather on one of those cat thingee toys. I do not exaggerate when I tell you that this creature was ginormous. Huge to the nineth degree is an understatement. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you guessed correctly. It was a Continue reading »
Candie was a ‘cougar’, and was way too proud about it. She loved to taunt the guys at work by bragging about her affairs with young lovers. Doug had a low opinion of her from day one, and it continued to get lower every time she Continue reading »
Once upon a time, high upon a steep mountainside, there was an eagle nest with four large eggs inside. One day, an earthquake caused one of the eggs to roll out of the nest, and all the way down to a chicken farm, located in the valley far below. The chickens adopted and protected the eagle egg as one of their own, and eventually, a beautiful eagle was born. Being chickens, they raised the eagle as a chicken.
The eagle loved his home and family, but its spirit cried out for more. One day, the eagle looked to the skies above, and saw a group of Continue reading »
A recent study, funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, the main United Kingdom agency that funds physical science and engineering research and training, has found pollution levels in some kitchens are much higher than those of busy highways. The study, which was conducted by the University of Sheffield, measured air quality inside, and outside, a rural house and two apartments (one was in Sheffield city centre, and the other was in an urban location next to a busy highway).
The rural house had an electric stove, while both apartments used Continue reading »
I have always been proud of Prince George, but never as proud as I was on this year’s father’s day at the Cruzin-Classics Show and Shine. The day didn’t look too good for a car show when I awoke that morning, with the rain rattling down from the roof through the down spouts outside our open bedroom window, with the velocity of the water in the Fraser River, while at a full flood level. Normally I’d find the sound relaxing, and would let it lull me back into dream land, but on that morning, it Continue reading »
