There has been recent discussion in British Columbia about possibly passing legislation to allow children to go to school all year.

Well, here’s a few facts about year round school  they don’t tell us about it, and what happened where it took place:

1: Countries, where year round schooling is currently taking place, have the highest suicide rates of the entire world.

2: Study after study, for decades, has proved that there is absolutely no academic advantage that’s achieved by attending school all year round.

3: Summer camps, recreational programs and all related industries, were completely wiped out, causing a massive job and income tax loss.

4: Family vacations became very difficult, and because of this, there was a huge negative impact on tourism, and tourism dependent businesses.

5: Never, in the history of man, has anyone who went to school year round, invented, or accomplished, anything of any real importance to mankind.

I don’t understand! Why would the government need to pass anything to “ALLOW” children to go to school all year round? Parents can decide that now with home schooling, summer courses, etc. It is optional. When the government steps in with legislation, it usually removes the option and makes things manditory. I can’t see optional schooling as a government concern, unless they are considering keeping regular schools functional during the summer and paying teachers, maintenance and all other expenses for the extra two months. “Allowing” children to attend only partially occupied classes would be a huge waste of taxpayers money. What is the real issue here? Ultimately imposed full time schooling, babysitting, or apparent poor result in education of our students?
