baby and dogDogs are naturally social great animals which are kept at home. They enjoy with the landlords playing games, getting trained and are loyal enough to watch over your kids and provide great companionship. If you’re going to be a parent apart from health care, even your pet should be well trained. So prepare it for the upcoming changes.

Here are a few tips to prepare your pup for an infant:

As there would be ample time in taming your pet before a new-born. Obedience training is to be given which can be easier in managing the basic commands given by the owner. So make a habit of skilling your pet according to the convenience.

Socialize your dog to babies as they are not being between them. When there is a new born, things get changed, new smells, difference in daily bread and such things are a bit confusing for the domestic. So start inviting friends and relatives with babies to get socialised. Play few baby sound recordings and let them listen.

The behaviour of the dogs may be a dangerous at times. They suddenly get annoyed and start barking. Such nuisance may disturb the baby’s sleep. So work more on behavioural issues which can keep you out of danger. If possible, spend money and hire a dog trainer who could help you in eliminating these disputes.

Create boundaries for it as it should not jump over you or over the wall when any new person is in. In the same way tame them in such a way that they don’t fall on the couch or bed without invitation. Better to start skilling pets in such areas as the accidental scratches or any other injuries may harm the new born.

The most important is your pet’s health and its hygiene. It should have a regular bath as it may spread infection to the baby. Spay your dog, if any health issues regarding their skin, fur or any other reproductive systems, treatment should be done before hand. Consult a veterinarian, to know the problems.

The dog’s nails are grown very fast. Get used to trim its nails and train to be calm on the floor. Sprinkle baby powder or oil, so that the pup gets familiar to the new odours.

It is a faithful animal which can follow instructions when we train them. So it is the landlord’s duty to make the change familiar. It should be skilled in such a way that, it should not rush near the cot or fall on mommy. Pure attention is to be taken for successful dog adjustment.

As your child’s safety comes first, try taming it for the whole nine months or see a new shelter for it. So take up these tips and start preparing your pet for infants.
