toronto mayorWith summer in full swing, and racial tensions rising, the mayor and city councillors have taken a hard core stance to insure their own safety, and it’s causing an uproar among activists and left wing groups. In order to protect themselves, the mayor and council have ordered the immediate removal of all ‘coons’ from city hall before they return this fall!

Kazia Fraser, city spokesperson, said via e-mail that an unidentified noise was heard last week, and because masked intruders were spotted, traps have been laid as a ‘precaution’. “They have been known to crawl up above the ceiling slats around the perimeter of the building. On rare occasions, they make their way into the actual building spaces on the second floor. This tends to occur more frequently when the seasons are changing. The construction on the square may also be a contributing factor.

At this time, nothing further has been reported, nor has anything been trapped. We use cages that trap the raccoons safely, and then remove them off-site the same day. We also check the outside of the perimeter walls for any openings, so they do not get into the office spaces. Once raccoons are removed from the area, we close up any openings if found.” But, not everyone agrees. Local animal activists and left wing groups are outraged, saying that raccoon rights are being totally ignored.
