Vancouver’s newest vintage shop, and a green dream recycling centre, ‘Union Wood Company’, has become ‘the’ one stop shop for people craving items with a retro, industrial feel.
Craig Pearce, the store’s founder, and a former garbage collector, says that he was inspired by the industrial buildings and wooden shipping docks that used to cover the Vancouver landscape.
Union Wood Company reflects Craig’s joy in repurposing and reusing discarded items. Hand-crafted pieces, created from those items, line the store. But the real brilliance of what Craig has created at the Union Wood Company, is the environmentally responsible manner in which he involves the community in the process.
