Stuff to make you think laugh and wonder keeps the mind young, and minds don’t get more adolescent than ours:

» On “Black Tuesday”, October 29, 1929, the stock market lost $14 billion, making the loss for that week an astounding $30 billion. This was ten times more than the annual U.S. federal budget, and far more than the U.S. had spent during all of World War One. Thirty billion dollars then, would be the equivalent of $377,587,032,770.41 today, which is a whole lot less that the banks got paid during the great ‘Bail Out’ just a few years ago.

» I was in my backyard one night looking through my telescope. My neighbor had just taken out his trash and came over. He asked, “Hey! Are you looking at the stars?” I said, “Heck no! I’m watching a Cosmonaut undress on the space station.”

» All forms of onions (raw, cooked, powdered, etc.) are unsafe for your cat. A small amount of onion can easily cause onion poisoning. Onion poisoning breaks down a cat’s red blood cells, causing anemia, weight loss, lethargy and more.

» A three-year-old granddaughter, Lauren, got less discipline from her grandparents than she does at home. After a recent sleepover there, her mother was putting her to bed. But, after her regular three bedtime stories, Lauren started pleading, “Please, please, please, just one more.” “No, Lauren,” her mother said, “You know the rules, three stories, then it’s time to sleep. Begging for more only works with Grandpa.” “Oh no, Mommy,” Lauren said, “it works with Grandma too!!!”

» Just be yourself, because no one will ever be able to tell if you’re doing it wrong.

» As part of her research on a local guest ranch, an author went to the Wyoming resort. As part of the usual activities, a neighboring ranch invited guests from the resort to participate in a cattle drive. After watching twenty urban cowpokes whooping and hollering, chasing cattle in all directions, the author rode up to the ranch owner and asked her how many cowboys it normally took to drive a herd of that size. “Just one,” she replied. “Just one?!” the writer gasped incredulously. “Oh ya, and a dog,” the rancher added.
